Parking spaces in the city of Salzburg can be hard to locate and you should be extremely careful where you park, particularly around the Old Town (Alstradt) area. Any cars found parked in the bus lane will be quickly towed away to nearby parking compounds, with harsh fines to pay. Therefore, be sure to check signposts and pay at nearby meters when parking along the streets in Salzburg city centre.
